Petrina Metcalf

Petrina is a passionate amateur historian with over 15 years of experience in genealogy. She has extensively documented her family's history through photographs and personal anecdotes from relatives and community members. To formalise her expertise, Petrina is currently enrolled in a Diploma of Family History at the University of Tasmania. Professionally, she has held various client-facing roles and worked in mining administration, with a focus health and safety, acquiring skills in report writing and data analysis. Petrina thrives in diverse situations and is always eager to assist colleagues and learn new skills. In 2023-2024, she played a key role in the Broke Bicentennial Committee in the Hunter region of New South Wales, managing the social media campaign and helping to research and narrate the history of Broke.

Amy Green

Amy is a high school teacher with over 15 years of experience specialising in English, History, and Social Sciences for students in years 7-12. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Queensland in 2007, majoring in History, Anthropology, and Sociology, graduating with honours in History before obtaining her teaching qualifications. During her studies, Amy gained valuable hands-on experience at institutions such as the Bradman Museum in Bowral, New South Wales. Currently, she is pursuing further study at the University of New England. Amy has a profound interest in Australian history and is dedicated to uncovering and sharing stories from smaller communities.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
a. Our services aim to provide comprehensive and personalised research into family histories and/or local histories. In order to achieve this objective, Bygone Era Consulting will prepare a project proposal before work commences to provide a clear outline to the client what work will be conducted.

b. The project proposal must be agreed to by the client before work commences. The project proposal will also include a project timeline and agreed cost for the work.

c. The client agrees to disclose what research they have completed through the completion of a form. This form will provide as much detail as possible regarding research already undertaken, to avoid duplication of work.

d. Obtaining transcripts or copies of birth, death, marriage certificates and any other official documents is at the client’s expense. If records such as these are required for research purposes, approval to purchase will be obtained from the client in writing.

e. Any further research conducted beyond the scope of the initial proposal (and cost associated) must be agreed to by the client in writing.

f. Payment is required before any work commences.
The client will be informed if there any issues achieving the project outcome (i.e. lack of sources available).

g. Bygone Era Consulting will keep a research log of all work undertaken, both successful and unsuccessful.

h. Bygone Era Consulting agrees to adhere to the Australian Privacy Principles, as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
